There are usually three reasons you cannot focus: you are tired, the task is vague, or you keep getting interrupted. Music only fixes the third.

Why it works
It lowers the cost of starting
The hardest part is the first five minutes. Pressing play is a small action that carries you over that step, and once you are seated the rest follows.
It removes interruptions, not vagueness
If you are stuck because the task is shapeless, you need to break the task down, not change the music. Make step one a five-minute thing — then music can help.
How to use it
Commit to five minutes. Start the music, set a five-minute timer. You are usually still there afterwards.
Write the next action in one line. Not knowing what to do is not an audio problem.
Turn off notifications. Music can mask sound; it cannot mask a badge.
When to turn it off
If the real cause is short sleep, a twenty-minute nap beats any playlist. Fatigue does not get covered over.
Questions
Would changing the music help?
Picking tracks easily becomes the procrastination itself. Play something already familiar and begin.
Does it help with ADHD?
Many people say yes, but variation is large. Try a few days on and a few days off and build your own rule.
